Disclosures

Material relationships are disclosed on the page.

We follow FTC §465.6 and EU UCPD Annex I in spirit and in practice. If we have any material relationship with a brand or product we cover, we tell readers — clearly and conspicuously, not buried in fine print.

Who's behind TheLayer

TheLayer.co is published by Creatsy sp. z o.o. (Katowice, Poland, KRS 0000980555), a company that makes and sells mockups and runs a marketplace for other creators. Creatsy is owned 50/50 by Jakub Gruszka (CEO) and Magdalena Gawęda, who is also TheLayer's Editor-in-Chief and a registered commercial proxy (prokurent) of Creatsy. We tell you this up front because we review mockup tools — and that includes Creatsy's own products. We are editorially independent in how we score, not independent of Creatsy as a company. To keep scoring honest, Magdalena does not set the score or write the verdict on any review of a Creatsy product or a direct Creatsy competitor — an independent reviewer does that, and the person who manages our affiliate links is never the person who decides the score. We earn affiliate commissions from some links (to Creatsy and to other companies); commissions never change a score, and we will recommend a competitor over Creatsy when it's genuinely better.

Editorial independence

TheLayer.co is editorially independent in how it scores — every product is reviewed in-house, free of affiliate, sponsor or other outside influence — and is published by Creatsy. Editorial decisions — what we cover, how we score it, what we publish — are made by the editorial team. No advertiser, affiliate partner, or related brand has any approval or veto over editorial content.

Related parties

Some coverage references Creatsy, a related design tooling platform. The relationship is disclosed at the top of any individual article that mentions Creatsy, in addition to the disclosure paragraph in the footer of every page on this site.

Affiliate and commercial links

Affiliate, sponsored, partnership and material-relationship links are marked with rel="sponsored" in the page source — visible to readers who inspect, and visible to search engines. We do not use cloaking, link redirectors that hide the destination, or any practice designed to disguise a commercial relationship.

What you will not see

  • Backdated publishing dates.
  • Fake authors, reviewers or credentials.
  • Forced positive scores for any brand, including related parties.
  • Hidden affiliate links or undisclosed material relationships.
  • Synthetic AggregateRating schema invented from the editor's own opinion.
